Conventional PCB Assembly
In addition to our surface mount PCB assembly capability we also have an impressive facility for assembly of conventional components using a range of either hand solder or wave solder processes as appropriate. A team of skilled Assembly Operators work to colour coded assembly drawings and instructions generated from our Production Engineering department to help ensure PCBs are consistently manufactured to the highest standards. The photo to the right is an example of components being loaded into a PCB prior to wave soldering.
We have two Blundell CMS400D Dual Wave Flow Solder Machine, one dedicated for manufacturing "lead free" PCBs and one for "leaded" PCBs.
Where appropriate we have set up Customer dedicated manufacturing cells.
The image on the right shows a cell set up to meet the requirements of one particular Customer providing KAN BAN facilities for a suite of over 20 PCB types with weekly deliveries that exactly match the quanitity of PCBs used by the Customer from their stock.
The image on the right shows the MRP Team with the Customer after the implementation of a highly successful Dedicated Manufacturing Cell. 6 months into the project the Cusotmer has benefited with:
- 60% reduction in Customer held stock/inventory.
- 99.7% on time delivery agains a varying demand pattern.
- 0.4% reject level.
In November 2005 MRP Electronics was featured in The Manufacturer magazine in an article regarding our relationship with several long–standing customers: "Across the Board"
Although we recognise it is not always possible, we pride our selves on our track record of converting conventional PCBs to Surface Mount technology and have on a number of occasions achieved significant benefits for our customers in doing so.
